Bury Art Week 2016

Hi everyone , just to let you know that I will be exhibiting a collection of my wire work jewellery at the Bury Art Week in aid of Bury Hospice starting on Thursday 28th April till Saturday 7th May 2016 . There will be about 25 pieces and 50% of the price will go directly to the charity. I will also have 4 of my paintings there on exhibition along with lots of other great art pieces by a large group of artists. This is a wonderful event which is held every year at the Art gallery and Museum in Bury, Lancashire. Lots of brilliant artists from around the area have their works on display and they can all be purchased. At least 30%of all the money taken goes directly to the charity, although myself and several others have agreed to give more than the 30%.(I donate 50%of all my sales)

I have been lucky enough to exhibit my jewellery there for 4 years now and have been very pleased with the results. I have also have one or two of my paintings selected each year as well with some success. This year I was very pleased to get all 4 of my paintings accepted for the first time . They are two paintings of cats in the Chinese brush style, an oil painting called Africa and a watercolour on canvas of a herd of elephants . I hope they do well.

Do try to visit if you can and support this great event. Hope to see you there.

Well that is all for now. More updates soon.

Happy New Year

I would like to wish everyone all the best for the coming year. I have been busy with commissions of paintings and still have more to complete which is a happy place to be.I still have work on display at the U-Think gallery in Crompton place shopping centre in Bolton, Lancashire, England. This is open most Saturday and Sunday afternoons and occasionally through the week, but this is more difficult to predict times.

The commissions I am doing are of a range of subjects and mediums, including elephants and zebras and scenes of Africa. Some have been done in watercolour, while others are to be done in oils. I will try to include images later in the year. I am also beginning to create new designs for my jewellery collection with the Bury Art Week in view for late April or early May. Again, I will put some images on here when completed.

I have added more images to my paintings page , so hope you enjoy them. Please contact me if you would like to know more about my work or wish to buy or commission any thing. My contact details are on my about page.

I hope you enjoy my work and will try to up date more often. All best wishes, Lesley

I have a couple of commissions to complete at the moment, but can always find time for more if you need something special for the comming season, or the new year.

Well, I hope you are all well and will update again soon.

Welcome to my site.

Thank you for visiting my site. It is a work in progress but I wanted to show some of the type of things I do. I love to paint and have included some of my work. I exhibit with Bolton Art Circle where I am the Chairperson. I also run an exhibition called Art in the Precinct in Bolton town centre each August bank holiday weekend (during the Bolton Food Festival). This is a great chance to see more of my work and that of other artists.

I also exhibit with U-think in their Bolton space in the Crompton Place shopping centre. ( upstairs from Boots). We are open every Saturday and Sunday from about 12 till 4 and there is often some one in the space through the week, although this is less predictable. You can always contact me to arrange a visit there and I will make sure that I am there.

I am happy to accept commissions for paintings, particularly of animals, which I love to paint. I have many happy customers who have asked me to paint their loved pet. I only need a photo or two to work from and you can have a wonderful keepsake of your beloved friend.

I also make jewellery from semi-precious gemstones and wire. Again, there are some images of my work on this site under jewellery heading. I will be having some items in the U-think space soon and am often found at craft fairs around the area. You can contact me to ask about these pieces or I can make a bespoke piece for you to suit your requirements. The wire I use is copper based and is then silver plated , coloured and e-coated, so it is very good quality. I can also make pieces from 925 Stirling silver wire, if required.

I make a range of more simple pieces using gemstones and Stirling silver which are designed to show the gemstones in all their beauty.I will be adding some of these items to my site as soon as I am able.
